This note applies to all estimates.
We make every effort to provide reasonable and fair pricing in our estimates.
Years of experience have taught us that attempts to factor every possible circumstance and eventuality into our quotes increases prices and is a disservice to us and our customers. If we quote for all eventualities, customers are inclined to opt for “bait and switch” contractors who provide cheap pricing, inferior quality products and service and in the end charge “extras” for what should have been included.
To this end, we will make every attempt to review your project and provide a comprehensive quote. If we foresee a problem it will be spelled out, and approximate costs will be noted or presented a-la-carte.
Please note however, that Excav cannot be held responsible for having x-ray vision. By this we mean being able to see into the ground and knowing where there are obstructions, pollution, buried foundations or any other encumbrance to our proposed work not clearly visible from the surface or otherwise described.
Please note that your property is yours and therefore your responsibility. The fact that Excav is performing a service on your property does not make an unforeseen encumbrance Excav’s responsibility for handling, avoiding, disposal, or for lost time to regular operations. As owner, these costs are your responsibility. Excav did not plant these items on your property for the purpose of delaying the project and we did not “foresee” the problem and therefore must be compensated for efforts in solving problems over and above the scope of work proposed.

We will make every attempt to accurately discuss our projects, inform the customer of what is required, estimate accurately and not “bait-and switch."
